okay so there is no chat box any more so im just going to put this here

basically my dad had a stroke last friday
and this friday he was supposed to go to rehab and everything was going to get all freaking better
well today he had a seizure and is just
my dad is really, really sick and thats all i can say
i am so sorry but i just cant keep up with everything right now
if you are religious i beg for you to pray for him
if you arent then okay keep your fingers crossed idk but oh god i just cant lose my dad yknow

im so sorry but dont expect to see me much in these next few weeks

Hey Sun,

I'm so sorry to hear that. I will definitely keep him and your family in my prayers. Keep your chin up and stay strong.
I trust he's under the care of the doctors at the hospital by now? If he isn't, or for when he comes home, there's a bit of first aid info for strokes that might be helpful, which I hope you never have to use.

It's the acronym FAST

F - Face: Ask him to smile. If it looks crooked or he only smiles with one side of his mouth, that's abnormal. You can also ask him to stick his tongue out, and if it goes to one side, same thing.

A - Arms: Ask him to hold his arms out straight in front of him. An abnormality would be if he can't hold them at equal height.

S - Speech: Ask him to say a simple sentence that you're used to hearing him say, like "I'm going to the store, do you need anything?" for example, and listen for slurred words.

T - Time: Record the time symptoms began, and call for medical help. And don't panic. The earlier on doctors can enter the picture, the easier it is for them to reverse the effects.

It's not part of the acronym, but if you ask him to write his name or a series of words on a piece of paper, and his hand writing looks really sloppy, that's also something to note.



And I hope with all my heart you never have to remember any of that. He'll be ok, Sun. He's in God's hands, you can trust that God will take care of him.

Oh, Sun I am so sorry.
You and your family will remain in my prayers. I don't know what to say, other than it isn't goodbye forever, you will see him again. I know everybody says that, but it's true. When he is with God and God is with you, then he really isn't far away and is closer than you think. When everything seems dark, keep faith and remember that this too will pass.
If there's anything you need, don't hesitate to ask.

I'm sorry to hear I know what it feel like for you. I lost my dad two years ago and just in november my os boyfriend passed away due to having casncer and his kidneys shutting down. If you need to talk about anything I'm here.
