Appearance: Maria has a slim but feminine figure.She has a round face, with eyes of the most beautiful shade of blue imaginable. She also has golden blond hair, that is slowly starting to turn dark brown like her fathers.Her top lip is thin, while her bottom lip is full, Some people mistake her for being Italian, since she looks like both her parents.She also has her hair up most of the time , when on duty.Her skin is almost snow white, and her lips are almost blood red. She also has two rings on her at all times, one which belonged to her with the assassins symbol on it that was her father's , and one from her mother with the family name on the inside of the ring.

Distinguishing Features: Has a scar above her right eye.She got it while training, and had a sword cut her above her eye,she also got a scar from the top left corner of her lip to the left corner of the bottom lip, and a scar on her left cheek, from a arrow just grazing her.

Personality: Maria is a young girl who doesn't really care about what people think about her, unless it's someone she likes, her boss or her family. She is very outgoing and kind of goofy when around people she knows, while she is almost dead silent and or shy when around new people. If anyone asks her what happened to her parents she either ignores the question, takes a long pause before telling them, or gets mad. If anyone calls her Ann, Anne or Marry, she usually flips out, unless it's someone she's close to or likes a lot.

Maria likes to help those in need, if she sees a child begging for money, she gladly would go over and give the child enough to buy them, or their family, food for a day or so. If someone is being attacked she would try to help in any way possible. When in a argument she is most likely not the one to back down, and usually argues until the other person gives up or doesn't have anything more to say. (Got that from her mother.) She is also very scared of Dieing alone and belong alone all her life, so she really doesn't like being alone that much.

Fears: Death,Not living up to her father's legacy, bees, hornets and wasps.

History: Maria grew up in a noble family,born to Leonardo Gastrado, a noble Italian from Roma, and a noble English women , Lucia Ainsworth, from London England, and older brother Alexzander Ainsworth. Her mother and father agreed for the children to take on their mothers last name, so that their fathers enemy's wouldn't come after them. As she grew up she had to deal with her father being gone for long amounts of times. Sometimes even having to leave late at night, sure he was a banker, but why did he have to leave so late, and so long. Her mother Lucia taught her proper educate for a women, and how to cook and clean.

Even though her mother taught her these, she never truly wanted to be just a house wife, she wanted to grow up, and make a difference in the world, just like the assassins in her fathers stories did. She did know that her mother was only doing this, because she didn't want her only little girl to grow up to be a assassin and have many enemy's like her father. This caused fights between her parents quite often, when they thought the kids were sound asleep upstairs. Maria did feel bad, like she was to blame for their arguments, but on the other hand she always wanted her father to win because she did truly want to be a hero like her father.

Then late one night tragedy struck her family, loud crashing and banging came from downstairs, Alexzander who knew what to do, hid himself and his sister, as Templar's ransacked their fathers study, she could hear the yelling of the guards and the screaming of her mother as the guards threw them about, trying to get information about some apple of Eden that he apparently had, but when her parents didn't answer she witnessed the guards cutting their throats, and stabbing them though the chest, with evil smirks as they laughed and cursed her family, and thus spitting on her parents before they left.

Alexzander knowing he was the only one left to protect his sister went to make sure everything was safe, but he never came back. Maria then managed to escape from the house and find a boat set for Roma Italy, so she stowed away on the boat for what seemed like days and months. Finally she arrived at Roma where her uncle lived. Upon moving in with her uncle, Maria had to get accustomed to the terrible heat, since she was from England, where it wasn’t so hot.

Her uncle originally insisted she stay out of the Assassin business, but she put up a good fight, thus getting her own way and being accepted into the assassins creed. To this very day, nightmares of that dreadful night keep haunting her at any given time, be it day or night, flash backs that would make her stop dead in her tracks and look scared beyond belief. Now she tires to live up to her family name, and the assassins creed, trying to be the best assassin like her father was, but she still has yet to partake in her ceremony to become a true Assassin, a master Assassin. She still wonders what happened to her older brother and wither or not he is still alive or dead.
