A new day, A new life

Maria sighed as she took in the beautiful view of Roma, from her uncles rooftop. This is where she truly felt at home, in Italy with her uncle. Her attention then went to a tall building, of which she was going to do her leap of faith from, as part of her ceremony to become a true assassin. She breathed deeply as she began to get nervous, she really did hate heights, but she was going to suck it up so she could become a real assassin, and show her uncle she truly had what it takes.

"I hope it goes well tonight." She said to herself as she looked down below at the citizens who were crowding the streets, it made her happy to see everyone was safe and sound. She then quickly scouted for any signs of guards before she descended from the roof, and into the crowd of people bellow,thus apologizing for knocking some people off their feet.

She then began to walk around and take in all the scenery, it was just like her father told her in his stories, the buildings, the people even the water. She had a good feeling today, and she hoped it would stay that way, or at lest until she got her ceremony over with that is.

"Oi you!" came a deep husky voice from somewhere behind her.Maria then looked lanced back to see a group of guards running right at her.

"good feelings gone!" Maria said to hrself as she began running turning down every street she passed, in order to lose them.Then she came to a dead end, with ought thinking twice Maria scrambled up the wall and climes up on the roof, making sure to stay out of the guards point of view.

"Just what I needed to make this day any better ." She said to herself sarcasticly as she watched the guards, hoping that they would leave soon.

Alessia knew today was the welcoming of new recruits in to the creed. She had been in their shoes a few years ago when she was officially welcomed with the help of her brother. She walked the streets of Rome making sure that no guard would be around to ruin her little adventure off this meeting. Her eyes kept close and watched as a few guards were starting to chase an assassin who took up to the roof tops. It was a smart idea for the most part the only bad thing to it was you never knew when there was a guard on the roof tops. She decided to take things in to her own hands and well with a little fun of course. She ran up behind them removing the hood overhead and made herself look like she was crying. The girl tapped their shoulders and the turned to her. “There is a thief running around and stealing things. He stole my money and took off that way.” She said pointing in a random direction. They looked at her for a moment before running off in the direction she was pointing. Ali put her hood back on and well followed where the girl had jumped on to the roof top to. She smiled a little knowing she had to be new at this. “Hello I got those guards away from you, they should be distracted for quite some time.” She said with a little laugh. She looked the girl over wondering who she was and figuring that she probably should eventually introduce herself to the young women.

Maria watched silently as the guards ran off, after a women went up to them and pointed in some direction, but she couldn't get what she told them suddenly the women said something to Maria. She then quickly and silently got down from the roof and dusted herself off, thus pulling the hood of her assassin robes down.She then looked the women over, wondering if she could trust her or not, her uncle always told her there weren't that many people left in the world that you could trust anymore.

"T-thank you ma'am." Maria said as she kept her eyes on her, wondering if she was going to attack her or not.She then got a weird urge to ask of she too were a assassin, but she shook her head and looked around at the people walking by.

"So...are you from around here at all... if I may ask?" Maria asked, hopeing she was being sociable , socializing was one of the many things she didn't exhale at.

Alessia just knew that feeling of trust around the girl. It wasn’t often that she felt that she could trust a person but she knew the robes and she didn’t want to come out and bluntly say she was an assassin. She looked back making sure the guards weren’t around because she knew she didn’t want them coming back because they were always impossible to get rid of. She smiled at the girl what she thanked her. Ali shook her head as she would have done it for anyone. Guards were annoying and when she wasn’t dressed like she was with the assassin’s robes they annoyed her. “It’s no problem, they are typical men, they see a damsel in dress and instantly they have to help her. Hate to tell them they were sent on a wild goose chase.” She said laughing a little. She figured it was fun to have her little fun while she could naturally. It was too often the guards caught her and she had to fight her way through an escape. Her flirting skills usually came in handy when she did stuff like what she pulled. The girl asked if she was from around and Alessia had to really think about it a lot of her time was spent in Roma but she had her home in Venezia and she stayed there often. “Well yes and no, I am from Venezia but I am attending some things here in Roma. Although I find myself here a lot it seems like. What about yourself?” She asked her curious to know a bit more about this girl.

"well yes and no, I am from Venezia but I am attending some things here I'm Roma.Although I find myself here a lot it seems like. What about yourself?"

Mari nodded after hearing that she was from Venezia, but suddenly she stopped like a deer in headlights. Did she just hear her ask her where she was from.

Maria coughed and moved a strand of her golden blond hair from in front of her eyes.Then she took a deep breath and sighed.

" Well, i came here two years ago from London England due to a.....incident, I moved here because I have a uncle here who runs a.....buisness of sorts, i was the only one that made it here from my family back home that i know of unfortunitly." Maria said as her eyes began to get slightly glossy, from all the flash backs. Maria then Blinked her eyes a few to make it look like she got something in her eye, then she stretched.

"So far I feel like I'm at home here, all the people are nice, it's never really that boring, and i get to help my uncle sometimes." Maria then looked at the sky which was now a dark gray.

"I-I got to go." She suddenly said as she ran off and into a giant building that was kind of full with new assassins like her. She then sighed in relife hopeing she wasn't late. Then her eyes widdend at what she saw, they had to get a brand on their ring finger.

Maria wenced as she watched a young girl about her age get branded.
"Uncle never told me about this part.." She muttered under her breath as she got closer and closer to her turn.Finaly it was her turn. Maria then took a deep breath and walked up to the man who greated her, then he took a pair of tongs with a design ingraded on them, from the fire pit beside her.Maria then cursed under her breath as the tongs were placed around her finger, thus burning the design into her skin.

"Don't worry, it only stings for awhile." He said as he placed the tongs back into the fire pit and bowed to her. Now was time for the part she feared the most, the Leap of faith. Maria then took a deep breath as she and the fellow assassins walked up the stairs to where they were to jump it from. As soon as they got to the top Maria took a glance down, if she missed she knew she would be a goner.

"Time to suck it up princess, you got to grow up sometime" She said to herself as she watched the others leap off the pole and into the cart of hay, what seemed to her was a long way down.

Alessia knew two countries that she claimed was her home, she was half French and half Italian and spoke the languages like she was from there. She was used to it when she was speaking to her family they all spoke French which helped when the guards were around because they never really understood the language. She listened to girl’s story about moving her from London and she nodded a little and figured quickly what her uncle’s business was. “Ah well that was nice of your uncle to let you come here. Roma is a busy place easy to blend into for sure but the guards are a bit edgy and they don’t like us girls in hoods.” She said with a smile. “I would have loved to go to London; I’ve been to France several times.” She added wanting to make the girl feel at home and she seemed to be enjoying Roma. She nodded when she said she had to go. It was becoming that time where all the assassins were meeting to welcome in the new recruits. “Yes I should be going too.” She said watching the girl run off. Alessia took the roofs and slipped into the back of the room filled with assassins. She watched as the ceremony was perfect and she remembered hers so perfectly. As it finished she waited till most of her fellow assassins do their leap of faith. She was still a bit scared that one time she would just miss it. As she approached it the girl who she met before coming was standing there not going out. “Ah we meet again! I am sorry I should introduce myself formally I am Alessia Jiron.” Alessia smiled a little. It was the proper time to actually introduce herself as an assassin. “I don’t blame you for not jumping yet I am a bit scared of the falling and I’ve done it several times.” She said looking down to the cart.

“Ah we meet again!"

Maria nearly jumped out of her skin when she heard someone yell at her. She then turned to face the women who saved her but earlier.

" Oh, hey. Your a assassin too? Heh wouldn't of guessed that." Maria said as she started playing with her hair, as it became time for her to jump. Maria then took a deep breath as she slowly walked to the end of the pole, she then closed her eyed and tool one more deep breath before she jumped and let herself fall downwards thus doing a summer salt on her way down and landing on her back on the hay.

"Ouch... "She muttered to herself as she got up slowly and walked to the side of the cart, so the others could jump. Her back was now starting to kind of hurt, maybe she landed the wrong way or something.Maria then sighed as she sat on a bench with a few others who were now bored and tired, waiting for the whole ordeal to be finished with.

"Well, I think I landed the wrong way." Maria said as she felt the pain in her back get worsen thing was for sure, those carts, they wern't comfortable at all to land in, whether there was hay or not, but she would rather there be hay then nothing. She then began to thin of the girl that was talking to her not that long ago before she made her jump.

"I am Alessia Jiron."

That's it, her name was Alessia, she was so nervous about her jump, that she was barely paying attention to what she was saying. Maria then sat patiently as she awaited Alessia's turn to jump, she wanted to try and make friend with this girl. What harm could it cause, she needed to make a few alliances now that she was a true assassin, and maybe find the love of her life one day, she really feared being alone all her life, let alone dieing alone.

Alessia nodded as the girl said she was an assassin. She had been it for what seemed forever she learned how to be an assassin to carry on her father’s legacy of course. “Yes I am congratulations on becoming an assassin.” She said happily. She rarely met any assassins even when she was here she didn’t really like meeting them sometimes. She watched as the girl did her leap of faith. It wasn’t quite her turn yet as she watched a few others jump down. Finally it was her turn she stepped out on the little piece of wood that was the stand. She took a deep breath as she always hated this part; she jumped off the ledge and closed her eyes not long did she find herself in the hay. She got out quickly brushing herself off from the hay that stuck to her. She hated that part the most because the hay stuck to her hair at points. Alessia looked at the girl when she said she thought she landed wrong. “Well the first few times it is like that. You get used to it after a while I think.” She said shrugging a little of course. It was something she never thought about very much; usually she thought about how she was going to land on the ground. “So what is your name?” She asked her curious and wanting to make a friend.

Maria nodded, so she would just have to get used to doing dangerous Leaps into hay, hoping not to land , face first onto the ground. She then got up, but before doing anything else, cracked her back, thus getting rid of the pain, then she walked over to the girl.

"My name?" She asked as she stopped infront of the women. "My name is Maria Ann Ainsworth, but what ever friends I have.... or did have call me Maria."
Maria then looked down at her fathers wing, with the assassins symbol on it, which was on the ring finger that she got branded on.That ring was the one she charised most,. It carryed her fathers pride,dignity and bravery, and was witness to the many lives her father took, as a assassin.

"How proud you would of been, father." She said to herself as she smiled looking down at the ring. Her eyes then started to become glossy and Maria then sighed. Great now tonight she knew she would be doing water works, crying about how much she missed her parents and brother, ugh she hated crying, she always felt it was a form of weakness to her.

She then looked at the girl and smiled, looking as if she was hiding something holding something back.

"If you don't mind me asking this miss but..." Maria took a long pause, thus trying to keep her tears held back. "What made you want to become a assassin ?"
